AMGP-01AFS vs. AMGP-01NS: Which Aryung Lubrication Pump Has a Pressure Switch?

On By IndustryNest / 0 comments

The Aryung AMGP-01AFS and AMGP-01NS look similar on paper. Both are compact centralized lubrication pumps used on CNC lathes, machining centers and other machine tools, and both share the same 01 size class. The question we get most often is simple: why does one have a pressure switch and the other not, and does it matter for my machine?

Short answer: the AMGP-01AFS is designed without a pressure switch on purpose. The AMGP-01NS includes one. Which pump you need depends on how your machine monitors lube pressure.

The key difference at a glance

AMGP-01AFS AMGP-01NS
Float switch (low oil level) Yes Yes
Pressure switch No Yes
Pressure monitoring Done by the machine control Done by the pump's built-in switch
Discharge control Built-in digital timer Intermittent operation with metering valve
Voltage 110-120V or 220-240V 110-120V or 220-240V

AMGP-01AFS: float switch only, pressure monitored by the machine

The AMGP-01AFS ships with a float switch that signals low oil level, but it does not include a pressure switch. This is not a missing part. On machines that use the 01AFS, lubrication pressure is monitored directly by the machine's control system, so a second switch on the pump would be redundant.

If your original pump was an AMGP-01AFS, your machine is already set up to watch lube pressure on its own. Replacing it with a pump that has an extra pressure switch does not add protection and may leave an unused connector.

AMGP-01NS: both a pressure switch and a float switch

The AMGP-01NS includes both switches inside the pump. The float switch reports low oil level and the pressure switch confirms that the pump actually built lube pressure during each cycle. This is the right choice for machines that expect the pump itself to report a pressure fault.

How to choose the right replacement

  1. Check the model label on your existing pump. If it reads AMGP-01AFS, order the 01AFS. If it reads AMGP-01NS, order the 01NS. Matching the original is the safest path.
  2. Count the wires and connectors. A pump with a pressure switch has an extra signal circuit. If your machine harness has no connection for a pressure switch, that is a strong sign the machine monitors pressure itself and the 01AFS is the intended pump.
  3. Check the machine manual or alarm list. If the control shows a dedicated "lube pressure" alarm fed from the pump, the 01NS is likely the original.
  4. When in doubt, ask. Send us the machine model and a photo of the pump label and wiring, and we will confirm the match before you order.

Can I swap one for the other?

Mechanically the two pumps are close, but the switch configuration is tied to how your machine detects lubrication faults. Swapping an 01NS onto a machine designed for the 01AFS, or the reverse, can leave an unmonitored circuit or a permanent alarm. Confirm the wiring before substituting.

Frequently asked questions

Does the AMGP-01AFS have a pressure switch?
No. It includes a float switch only. Pressure is monitored by the machine.

Does the AMGP-01NS have a float switch?
Yes. The 01NS includes both a float switch and a pressure switch.

Which one is correct for my machine?
Match the model number on your original pump. If the label is unreadable, contact us with the machine model and a wiring photo.
